Cosmed organises the 2026 Biodiversity Meetings for the cosmetics industry

In a context where the cosmetics industry is increasingly dependent on natural resources and operating in a rapidly changing regulatory environment, environmental transition is now a strategic imperative for all players in the sector. The challenges associated with preserving biodiversity, sustainable water management, structuring bio-based industries and the circular economy call for collective action, as close as possible to the local level.

This initiative is a continuation of the Roquelaure ‘Business & Biodiversity’ project conducted in 2023, which laid the foundations for enhanced dialogue between the government, economic stakeholders and professional federations to accelerate the integration of biodiversity into corporate strategies.

C’est dans cette trajectoire structurante que Cosmed organisera les Rencontres régionales de la Biodiversité 2026, en partenariat avec l’Office français de la biodiversité (OFB), le Commissariat général au développement durable (CGDD) et la direction générale des Entreprises (DGE).

A national mobilisation as close as possible to the regions

The 2026 Biodiversity Meetings will take place in seven Cosmetopôles across the region, in collaboration with the Regional Biodiversity Agencies (ARB) and the Regional Economic Services (SEER), between January and October 2026, with the aim of drawing up a shared inventory, mobilising all stakeholders and identifying specific levers for action in the sector.

Ces rencontres permettront d’identifier les bonnes pratiques déjà existantes, d’encourager les synergies territoriales et de faire émerger des projets concrets en faveur de la biodiversité à déployer dès le second semestre 2026. Cosmed, chef d’orchestre opérationnel de cette dynamique, coordonnera l’animation d’ateliers collaboratifs (pression sur la ressource, bonnes pratiques, alliances possibles…), l’organisation de conférences sur les actions et les financements régionaux et la mobilisation des entreprises, élus, agences et pôles régionaux.

An ambitious regional programme

Ces Journées 2026 visent à offrir à la filière cosmétique une montée en compétence collective, une mise en réseau renforcée des acteurs, des projets territoriaux concrets et des trajectoires sectorielles de réduction de l’impact sur la biodiversité.
Chaque étape régionale abordera un thème clé pour la filière cosmétique :

• Grand Est – 5 February 2026: Biodiversity and bio-based ingredients: structuring a sector
• Occitanie – 12 February 2026: Sourcing and traceability of ingredients
• Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes – 9 June 2026: Water footprint and biodiversity issues
• Provence–Alpes–Côte d’Azur – 21 May 2026: RM portfolio: co-products
• Grand Ouest – 28 May 2026: Packaging: limiting the impact on ecosystems
• Nouvelle-Aquitaine – 6 October 2026: The use of by-products in cosmetics
